Restaurant Viel del Pan

The gourmet Viel dal Pan restaurant in the Luigi Gorza retreat at Porta Vescovo is the only location at a height of 2,500 m
in the Dolomites dedicated to haute cuisine. Gourmet cuisine at high altitude, which completes the circle of excellence of Porta Vescovo: stunning views, moving contours, perfect snow always.
Open only in Winter.

Viel de Pan’s Executive Chef Ivan Matarese will host the authors of “The Flying Ceff”, Fausto Arrighi and Davide Di Corato.
 Six expert hands will jointly create a 4-course gourmet menu.  Fausto Arrighi, who in 36 years with the Michelin Guide covered 2 million kilometres by car and checked 8,600 restaurants across Italy, now surveys kitchen chefs and travels throughout Europe in search of new trends and ventures in wine and fine dining.  Davide Di Corato has been working as a journalist specialized in the hospitality sector and is the author of numerous books on wine and fine dining.

For the whole winter season you can dine at 2 500m on Wednesday evenings, taking the cable car which goes up from Arabba to Porta Vescovo. For guests, the degustation menu of six courses of your choice or in combination with the “Winter Sea”, “Enrosadira (Alpenglow)” or “Flora” menus created by chef Ivan Matarese. After dinner you can relax, watching the sky from the telescope stations. The restaurant will stay open until 11.30 pm. Price: 80 euros per person, including cable car and shuttle service, excluding drinks.  It’s also possible to organise private dinners with special menus on request.

New Year’s Eve Gourmet Dinner at Porta Vescovo. For a gourmet experience at 2 500m, a New Year’s Eve dinner at the Viel dal Pan restaurant. You will be welcomed at 2,500m by a luminescent bonfire, where you will meet for an aperitif and enjoy a splendid view of the peaks of Marmolada/Marmolata and Sella. For this festive evening, chef Ivan Matarese will present a stimulating menu served at your table in the warm atmosphere of Viel dal Pan. This season, live music by the saxophonist Enrico di Stefano. The artist will kick-off the evening with an elegant chill-nu jazz and lounge music during aperitive. After dinner the countdown on the panoramic terrace for toasts and good wishes, and then... all are invited to dance along the best-known dj-sets of the past years!
The cable car goes up to Porta Vescovo every 20 minutes, from 7pm. The final descent is at 2am.

Cable car ascent from the Arabba station every 20 minutes from 7pm.
