Arabba is located in the Municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana (Belluno province), in the Veneto Region, within the Unione Montana Agordina, in the homogeneous collection area called "Alto Cordevole".
When is it possible to pick mushrooms?Mushroom picking for
non-residents within the jurisdiction of the Unione Montana Agordina is allowed on the following days:
- Tuesday;
- Friday;
- Saturday;
- Sunday;
- all public holidays during the week.
The "Alto Cordevole" homogeneous collection areaThe mushroom picking area of Arabba in the Municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana has been identified by the Unione Montana Agordina as the homogeneous area "Alto Cordevole", which includes the municipalities of Livinallongo del Col di Lana, Rocca Pietore, Colle Santa Lucia and Alleghe (see page 4 of the Regulation, Annex B

If visitors (including residents) wish to collect mushrooms in other homogeneous areas different from their place of stay or residence, they must purchase the relevant permit for that area (Valle del Biois, Conca Agordina, Regole of Selva di Cadore; for the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park or regional state-owned land, specific regulations apply).
Mushroom picking permitFor visitors aged 14 and over, mushroom picking is allowed only with an authorisation, consisting of the payment receipt issued by the Unione Montana Agordina and a valid identity document. This simple administrative step becomes the key to experiencing the forest in harmony with its rules. People with disabilities, as defined by Italian Law no. 104 of 5 February 1992, are exempt from payment.
Permit durationYou can choose the option that best suits your mountain experience:
- Daily;
- Weekly (7 consecutive days);
- Monthly (30 consecutive days);
- Seasonal (April to November).

Respecting the forestMushroom picking means stepping gently into a delicate ecosystem. The rules include:
- collection up to 3 kg or 1 kg per day per person depending on species (see page 3 of Annex A click here);
- use of rigid and breathable baskets;
- respect for protected and restricted areas;
- collection only of clearly identifiable mushrooms;
- no picking during nighttime hours.
Small gestures that help preserve a unique natural heritage.
Mushroom picking with childrenChildren under 14 may take part only when accompanied by an authorised adult holding a valid permit, turning the forest walk into a shared discovery experience.
