Cows Exhibition

Once, in autumn, a fair was held for the buying and selling of livestock. Initially, it took place in Pieve di Livinallongo,  then it was moved to the town square, later to Malga Cherz and finally to Arabba. Over time, the need to bring animals to the square for sale diminished, but to keep this convivial tradition alive, around the year 2000, it was decided to organize an exhibition to award the best Alpina Bruna livestock. Every year, at the end of September, breeders from the Valle di  Fodom continue this tradition with dedication. Recently, the exhibition has also been extended to Pezzata Rossa, thus becoming the "Exhibition of the Bruna and Pezzata Rossa Ladina breeds".

On Saturday September 27, 2025, the historic Exhibition of selected young livestock of the Alpina Bruna breed will take place in the "Centro" parking lot of Arabba, also hosting the 9th Ladina Exhibition of young Pezzata Rossa livestock, organized by the local Breeders' Association. Many animals from various malghe and pastures in the Valle di Fodom will be presented. During the parade, the champion of the show will be awarded, as voted by the national examiner.

10:00 Start of the event and evaluations by the Alpina Bruna breed judge;

11:00 Greeting from the present authorities;

11:30 Evaluations by the Pezzata Rossa breed judge;

12:00 Proclamation and award of the category champions and the winner of the Exhibition.
