ANDRAZ CASTLE
The Andraz Castle was built in 1027 and is the symbol of the Livinallongo valley. It was the military and administrative base for the Bischops of Bressanone and a stratgic point from wich to controlled traffic and trade. From Bressanone you could travel over the "Passo delle Erbe", Val Badia, and Val Parola to reach Belluno and then Venice.
The castle was also visible from "Laste, Rocca Pietore, Avoscan" and "Alleghe", using fire signals. It was also a block against the vast expansion of Venice. Dolomites were very attractive as a conquest to other regions because of the abundance of timber and minig. The castle was recently restored and lends the surrounding landscape a look into the past.

• + € 2,00 guided tour. Surcharge to be applied only to the full and reduced over 65 ticket
• Family ticket: - € 2.00 on the total amount of admissions (also valid for one parent).
