The Arabba Marmolada ski area is preparing for the 2025/2026 winter season with a series of measures aimed at modernising the infrastructure on the slopes and the lift facilities. The objective is to further improve efficiency, safety and comfort for skiers and visitors.
Portavescovo Area – Salere Slope
Modernisation of the snowmaking system with an investment of €650,000. The project aims to improve the energy efficiency of the system, optimise the management of water resources and improve the quality of the snow produced.
Pordoi Area – “Lezuo – Belvedere” Gondola Lift
Pordoi S.p.A. has built a new 10-seater gondola lift with automatic coupling. The lift replaces the historic four-seater Lezuo chairlift, dating back to 1996, and represents a significant technological and functional upgrade within the Sellaronda circuit.
The new gondola lift can also be used by pedestrians for uphill and downhill travel during the winter season. It starts at an altitude of 2,078 m and reaches 2,418 m, covering a vertical rise of 339 metres over a length of 1,287 m. With a maximum capacity of 3,400 people per hour, 55 cabins and a journey time of just 215 seconds, the lift is designed to improve passenger flow and comfort for skiers and visitors to the ski area.
The drive station and vehicle depot are located at the valley station. The project has brought the transport capacity into line with that of the Fodom gondola lift, helping to maintain the continuity of the Sellaronda in a clockwise direction.
The increased transport capacity is also intended to contribute to better management of visitor flows during peak periods. The new cabins serve the Belvedere 1 and 2 slopes. The latter is particularly appreciated for its technical characteristics and FISI and FIS homologation, making it suitable for official competitions.
With the completion of this lift, Pordoi S.p.A. concludes its renewal plan for the lifts along the Sellaronda, continuing the technological and functional development of the ski offering in Arabba.
Total investment: €15 million.
Marmolada – Snowmaking System
Marmolada S.r.l. plans to modernise the snowmaking system from Passo Fedaia (2,057 m a.s.l.) up to an altitude of 2,800 m. The project, with an investment of €5 million, is aimed at modernising the infrastructure and optimising the operation of the system.
Padon Area – “Passo Padon” Chairlift
A general overhaul of the mechanical components of the lift connecting Arabba with the Sellaronda, aimed at maintaining high safety and reliability standards.
Investment: €530,000.
